Every SaGud is unique
One night, during my initial conceptualization of SaGud Things, I thought, "what if it becomes popular?" What if, because of the power of social media, it becomes a viral thing? Hey, it's possible. Anything is possible these days. A reality TV host is leading his party's list of Presidential nominees. (Have you seen a pic of the First Lady?) So, I figured it would be super important to have the absolute lowest environmental impact possible. Every SaGud is made of paper. Remember POGs from the 90's? They're POGs! Biodegradable, made from recycled paper, glued with water soluble glue, they can return to the earth from where they came. Looking for printers, that could make SaGud Things, proved to be the biggest challenge I faced over the last year. Everyone wanted to go offshore. Costs were half that way. I wanted them to be made in America. Sort of a matter of principle. So, it took longer to find a solution and it costs more. I can deal with that. It was the right thing to do. The biggest roadblock was finding someone who could meet all of the criteria AND individually serial number each SaGud with a unique consecutive number. I feel like it's an essential part of the social experience for people to share where they got/gave a SaGud and to be able to track their travels and stories around the world. So, every SaGud is unique and I can't wait to hear their stories!
